Etsengui
Etsengui Association (Ngando): An association of the Indigenous Babongo (“Pygmy”) people dedicated to promoting their cultural and natural heritage.
BOTF supports a forest management project through iboga agroforestry, as well as several traditional craft activities, including basket weaving and kaolin work.

A Babongo community association working to preserve traditional knowledge and ensure the sustainable management of their ancestral forest.
2023 Actions
Revival of the agroforestry project centered on iboga.
Rehabilitation of access paths and bridges funded by BOTF.
Material and technical support for local crafts.
Support for schooling and social needs of families.
2024 Actions
Continued iboga reforestation under forest cover.
Development of craft activities and kaolin-based products.
Training in associative governance and community income management.
Results
The village reconnected, and community projects restarted.
Revival of craft production and improvement of household incomes.
Strengthened intergenerational ties within the community.
Challenges
Limited logistical means for transport and product marketing.
Governance still in the process of being structured.
