Mabondo René Association (Mbigou/Muyiku): An association of the Indigenous Babongo (“Pygmy”) people dedicated to iboga agroforestry, beekeeping, and traditional healing.

BOTF funds the iboga fields and beekeeping activities, as well as the schooling of all village children and the restoration of all homes.

Overview

Context

A rural community revitalized by BOTF, developing an integrated model of autonomy (agroforestry + beekeeping + traditional care).

Actions in 2023

  • Support for cultivating iboga under forest canopy.

  • Installation of 50 active beehives and training in beekeeping.

  • Funding school fees for children and renovating 10 homes.

  • Purchase and securing of agroforestry land.

2024 Actions

  • Continuation of care and artisanal initiatives.

  • International distribution of documentaries.

  • Strengthening of intercultural activities (exhibitions, gatherings).

  • Community income generated through honey and handicrafts.
